Poisonous halluciogenic plants and fungi of Slovenia
The master’s thesis titled Toxic Hallucinogenic Plants and Fungi of Slovenia is the artist’s most comprehensive project to date. It has been showcased at notable events such as Ilustrofest in Serbia, the 10th December Illustration Fair at Vodnikova Domačija, the Velvet 5 exhibition at Račka Gallery in Celje, and the 15th Slovenian Biennial of Illustration at Cankarjev Dom. The project focuses on toxic hallucinogenic plants and fungi native to Slovenia, exploring their ecological roles and toxicology. The final result is an artist’s book featuring 18 detailed illustrations of selected species, 18 photographs of their natural habitats, and in-depth information on the toxins and physiological effects of these organisms. This work transcends traditional boundaries of scientific illustration by combining aesthetic value with scientific precision, offering a fresh perspective on the visual and conceptual understanding of toxic flora and fungi.
