Hypnagogia
This project was developed as part of the Illustration II course at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, under the mentorship of Prof. Andrej Kamnik (2023). The experimental animation explores the neurological phenomenon of hypnagogia — the transitional state between wakefulness and sleep, often accompanied by hallucinations and anxiety. The animation presents sequences illustrating various levels of consciousness during the sleep phase, combining analogue photography with illustration. The visuals are dominated by self-portraits embedded in natural motifs, enriched with symbolic elements and textures that evoke a sense of fear and unease. The project was selected for the student competition section at the 26th Festival of Slovenian Film.
